The high impact force produced by the Allied 'Street Hammers' comes from two sources. As much as 75% of the hammers impact energy is from the compressed nitrogen charge above the piston. The remaining energy is provided by the hydraulic oil pressure from the carrier.
The nitrogen gas is affected by changes in temperature; the gas pressure will increase as the hammer reaches operating temperature. When checking the pre-charge pressure, please refer to the table below. The pre-charge pressure is given in values for both 'hot' and 'cold' settings.
NOTE: When checking the pre-charge pressure, the hammer tool must not be compressed so the piston is at its' lowest position.
