Being able to correctly identify both the unit model and the unit serial
number can be important when servicing or ordering parts for units. As products evolve and change, differences in production units are often referenced by specific serial number effective points.
Allied Hole Hogs have the unit serial number stamped on two major components to aid identification. The serial number is stamped on both the striker and the end cap assembly of the unit. While the number on the end cap provides easy external visual identification for some time, the number in this location is eventually erased by wear. The location of the unit serial number on the striker will vary slightly by model, but the number is always located near the front of the striker in an area which is unaffected by wear.
It is recommended the original unit serial number be stamped on a new replacement striker or end cap if used, and be re-stamped on a worn end cap to aid in future service and parts requirements.
