The Allied Ho-Pac generates the necessary energy for soil compaction through the rotation of an internal eccentric mass. The eccentric is supported on either side by a roller type bearing that requires periodic lubrication to reduce wear, cool, and clean the contact surfaces. The Ho-Pac receives lubricant through standard lubrication (Zerk) fittings located on either side of the eccentric housing. Refer to the lubrication diagram in the model specific manual for each Ho-Pac.
Under normal operating conditions, lubricate the bearings daily or after 8 hours of operation. During extreme operating conditions, such as high temperatures and dusty conditions, lubricate more frequently. Inject 5 shots of grease into each lubrication point for normal maintenance. The injection of grease into the bearing cavities not only provides lubrication, but also flushes impurities from the bearings to increase bearing life. When the bearings are dry such as after rebuild or bearing replacement, inject 20 shots of grease into each lubrication point to initially fill the bearing cavities. Use a premium quality, multipurpose, extreme pressure, and petroleum-based grease with lithium and anti-rust additives.
Minimum lubricant viscosity shall be 14.5 cSt at 100º C.
