Ho-Pac® Eccentric Housing Vent Hole

The Ho-Pac eccentric housing cavity is vented to atmosphere through a small 1/8" hole drilled through the housing weldment.  The hole serves to both vent the housing frame and allow pressurized oil to escape in the event of motor seal leakage.  Under normal operating conditions the vent hole is to be checked periodically and kept open.

In sheet/pile driving applications or other applications where the unit may encounter water and be partially or completely submerged (riverbanks, shore lines, etc.) provisions must be made to preclude contamination entry to the inner housing and eccentric bearings.  Otherwise, contamination will lead to premature component failure.

Contact Allied’s Technical Service Department for recommendations and modification instructions when working in or around water with Allied Ho-Pacs.
