Being able to correctly identify both the unit model and the unit serial number can be important when servicing or ordering parts and accessories for units. As products evolve and change, specific serial number effective points often reference differences in production units.
To aid identification, all models of Allied Hy-Rams have the model identification and unit serial numbers stamped in two locations. These numbers are stamped on both the ID plate and the cylinder housing. The ID plate is affixed to the ‘CS’ box bracket or side mounting plates and contains the following information: Manufacturer’s name and address, Product Name, CE compliance marking, Model Type, Serial Number, Year of Manufacture, and Mass.
The second location of the unit model and serial number is the face side of the cylinder body on the Hy-Ram percussion mechanism. The percussion mechanism is the main operating component that is housed within the ‘CS’ box or side plates. Locating the lubrication nipple or nitrogen fill valve assembly can identify the face side of the percussion mechanism. A grouping of three separate number sequences can be found in this location. The center grouping of numbers beginning with the letters 'HM' can be compared to the conversion chart below to identify the corresponding Hy-Ram model number. The four-digit grouping on the far right side represents the unit serial number. These numbers are visible through the service window of the ‘CS’ box bracket.
