IMPORTANT! - All new Allied Hy-Rams must be lubricated prior to initial operation. Failure to completely fill the reservoir can result in inadequate component lubrication and damage the tool and bushings.
Every Hy-Ram breaker has an internal passage that the lubricant follows until it reaches the bushing(s) and tool. On some models, this reservoir will run almost the full length of the breaker. When a new breaker is put into service, or bushings are replaced, it is necessary to pre-fill the reservoir. Larger breakers may require several tubes of lubricant to completely fill the reservoir.
The Allied AutoLube II and AutoLube CML are automatic lubrication systems designed with a delivery output of sufficient volume to replace the lubricant consumed during normal operation. However, the outputs of these systems are not designed to allow an empty hammer reservoir to be filled and maintain proper lubrication simultaneously. Use the attached tables to determine the correct position for lubricating each specific Hy-Ram model or series. Lubricant should be injected until it emerges from the lower wear bushing or tool retainer openings.
Before the Breaker is Lubricated it Must be Properly Positioned
Table 1 / Figure 1 - All current production breakers are lubricated by standing the hammer vertically on the chisel tool and applying contact pressure to fully seat the tool.
